Consumers will continue to connect an array of ordinary, everyday devices, objects, apps, and people to the internet. According to a report from the McKinsey Global Institute, in 2015, there were an estimated 10 billion connected devices globally and the impact of these connected smart devices on the global economy was estimated at close to $2 trillion. By 2020, connected devices are expected to increase to 75 billion units adding close to $20 trillion to the global economy.
