Note: you can use the trial software on Server and SQL if you do not have a Dreamspark account.

Virtualization needed:

Hardware needed:

Dual Core computer with 4 GB of RAM (Minimum)

How to:

Install VMWare Player and commit at least 30GB of HDD space, 1 CPU and 2 GB of ram (minimum).

Install Windows Server 2012 R2

Open Windows Server 2012 R2

Extract the SQL ISO into a folder on the Server

Click on Setup

Click on new SQL Server stand-alone installation

SQL Server 2012 Setup will run a Rule Check to make sure your computer is adequate 2 SQL

You should receive a pass for all items checked (.Net 2.0, .Net 3.5, etc.)3 SQL

Next enter your product key if applicable4 SQL
